Kylian Mbappé shines again for PSG by scoring twice against Bayern Munich. Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea stabilizes as they manage to defeat Porto by two away goals. Real Madrid defeated the champions, Liverpool by 3-1. Whereas, Manchester City defeated Borussia Dortmund on Etihad by 2-1. This week’s champions league football was not less than a treat for all the football fans around the globe.

The quarter final’s first legs have been a feast for the football ones. Every match was beautiful in its own way with its ups and downs as all the teams were evenly matched.

Since Ronaldo left, Real Madrid lost its lethal attack and did struggled in finding the opponent’s goal. They did had a shaky start in La Liga but when it comes to Champions League, Zizou knows how to handle it. Firstly, he should his trust in Madrid’s young winger Vinicious Junior. The young talent delivered as he managed find net twice against the champions and scored two goals in the game. Secondly, Zidane sends a clear message that they have the best midfield players in the league. Luka Modric, Casemiro and Tony Kroos showed midfield dominance against Liverpool and provided a beautiful assist especially which lead to first goal .

Liverpool had their sloppy moments too in that match. The third goal was a keeper mistake, whereas the build up for the second goal happened due to the defender’s mistake.

Manchester City Secured Home Win Over Dortmund

Pep Guardiola played his spot on tactics as his team will be moving to Germany with one goal advantage. City scored with Kevin De Bruyne and a late goal by Phil Foden. Even though, Marco Reus managed to score which was assisted by Eric Halland but city spoiled Dortmund’s equalizer with a quick second goal.

Kylian Mbappe is proving to be a goal machine for PSG at this moment. He scored two goals against German giants, Bayern Munich. Bayern Munich is a lethal club by its own and though Lewondoski was not playing due to injury, they managed to make a comeback with two goals. However, with two goals from Mbappe and a goal from Marquinhos allowed PSG to have one goal advantage for the second leg.

Seems like Thomas Tuchel is a perfect fit for Chelsea yet as they managed to win again. Chelsea did lost unexpectedly from West Brom which raised questions if they can do well against Porto. It was a first defeat for Tuchel’s Chelsea which left Chelsea fans anxious regarding their fixture against Porto.

However, Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell scored their first ever champion’s league goal and stepped up when the team needed them the most. Mount showed his class with a brilliant skillful finish while Chilwell scored with a simple tap in after racing away from the Porto’s keeper. Chelsea managed to secure two away goals and this surely will play a key role while playing the second leg on Stamfard Bridge. This tournament is really important for Chelsea as Tuche’s contract might be at stake and the race for top four position in Barclay’s Premier League has been very tight. After sacking Lampard, this will be the second consecutive season for Chelsea to go trophy less even after spending a hefty amount in the transfer market.

The second legs of these matches will surely be an exciting fixtures to witness for football fans. Since there is no presence of Messi or Ronaldo anymore in this league, others can have their hands on Ballon d’Or based on their individual performance in these matches. Moreover, many clubs will be closely observing the performance of Mbappe and Haaland as they might be transferred to the new clubs in upcoming summer.
