Manchester Clubs, Liverpool Chelsea Confirm UCL Status:
Premier League season came to its end today as Manchester City won yet another title. Arch-rivals Manchester United came in second, whereas Liverpool and Chelsea secured the third and fourth spot respectively.
Manchester City Bids farewell to Sergio Aguero
The Cityzens gave a fitting farewell to club legend Sergio Aguero as he played his last game for the club. The Argentine striker capped off his final performance with a brace. With his two goals, he became the first man to score the most goals for a single Premier League club. Wayne Rooney previously held the record.
Manchester United Unbeaten on the Road
Man United under Ole Gunner Solksjaer secured the second spot. The Red Devils became only the fifth side in Premier League to go unbeaten away from home for the entire season. Ole’s side will be facing Villareal in Gdansk in UEFA Europa League in the coming week.
Liverpool and Chelsea Leave it Late
Liverpool and Chelsea left it late but eventually qualified for next season’s UEFA Champions League. Goals from Sadio Mane secured the Merseysiders spot. Although Chelsea faced a defeat at the hands of Aston Villa, they still managed to fight it out. Their cause was helped by rivals Tottenham Hotspurs. They came from 2-0 down to defeat UCL contenders Leicester City.
